Choose the loop you can repeat under pressure: Minotaur Brawler controls space; Human Magician manages distance, status and Concentration.
Minotaur Brawler: Blunt / Stun Vanguard
The current public example calls this combination Vanguard. Minotaur supplies a heavy, axe-oriented frontline identity while Brawler adds close combat, grappling and Stamina-focused play. Prioritize Strength and survivability, use Basic Attacks to build pressure, and treat Blunt / Stun as the control window for the whole party. Exact thresholds and node costs are not verified.
Human Magician: Elemental Ranger
Human can switch between sword and crossbow while Magician adds Fire, Ice and Lightning directions. Pick one status theme such as Burning or Chill, then use weapon attacks to keep Concentration available for spells. This is a hybrid weapon-and-magic loop, not a stationary spell turret; exact starting stats and modifier paths remain open.
Five-slot loadout template
Start with one stable damage spell, one defensive or movement answer, one control or interrupt, one ranged or area tool and one flex slot for the Boss or status you are learning. Five slots reward coverage; five maximum-damage skills that empty Concentration and Stamina together usually do not.
Spend XP around the loop
Choose the attribute requirement for the weapon, Spellbook or defining node first. Off-stat investment can cost more for a Race × Class combination, so avoid spreading XP across every attribute simply to equip one early item. Keep the build small enough to survive Lost Caverns, Wildwood and the first Boss checks before chasing perfect Sets.
The evidence boundary
Elf and Shadow are current launch options, but their complete rotations and public strength comparisons are not stable enough for a tier list. These two directions are safe starting hypotheses, not guarantees of best damage, fastest clear or universal party role.
